Eclipse SP long term acquaintance with .NET technologies resulted in Eclipse SP acquiring Microsoft Gold Partner status in late 2007. Many of Eclipse SP engineers are MS certified professionals experienced not only in pure .NET development but also in working with such Microsoft tools as MS Commerce Server and MOSS as well as Microsoft Business Intelligence tools. Vehicle Parts Order Service
Project goal was to develop a comprehensive electronic vehicle part catalogue with such features: it should be integrated in Enterprise Environment, allow ordering products via multi-level distribution channels with implementation of complex pricing, provide the possibilities of discounting and shipment cost calculation models using only the tools and technologies available in MS Commerce Server. The main challenge was to build branched-structure solution that would fit Customers global marketing & distribution needs, providing users with easy approach for making site updates and file-tuning. Result: Developed solution forwards the order data in appropriate format from service representative to the distribution center closest to the location of the order placement district. The application is based on Microsoft Commerce Server and uses MS SQL as database. Now Order Service is used in Customer’s distribution centers and greatly streamlines the vehicle parts ordering process. Main features are:
