The goal for the participants is to submit an online game idea, concept description and sketches. The 2010 University Game Award will be held in two universities – Linnaeus University, Sweden and Kharkiv National University of Radio and Electronics, Ukraine.
Since Sigma Kudos and Eclipse SP had previously initiated international educational programs between the two mentioned Universities, this time in was decided to broaden this successful collaboration with the student contest. In a video conference between the two participating Universities, which was held in February, 2010, Ukrainian and Swedish students had a chance to see their foreign competitors and talk to Boss Media representatives, asking them about trends in the gaming business and contest details. After all questions were solved, students registered to challenge their inner creativity. “This contest is a great chance for students to obtain an insight of a real business in the segment of online games development, and thus prepare for a competitive workplace,” says Valery Krasovsky, Eclipse SP COO. “The student’s ideas are a picture of tomorrow’s world, and through this contest we will have a glimpse of what our gaming future will be.” The contest website can be found at www.universitygameaward.com.
